The patients were prospectively followed for two years to monitor for doubling of the baseline serum creatinine concentration and the initiation of renal replacement therapy. Results: Median urinary Klotho/Cr level was 0.35 μg/gCr (0.03–1.64) at baseline. The urinary Klotho/Cr level was positively correlated with eGFR and proteinuria and negatively correlated with changes in proteinuria during the follow-up period. The 117 patients followed for two years were categorized into two groups according to the baseline median urinary Klotho value. The 23 patients had progressed to renal end point.
