Over a fifteen-year span, a tertiary referral institution received a total of 45 cases of canine oral extramedullary plasmacytomas (EMPs) for examination. Histopathologic prognostic indicators were sought in histologic sections from 33 of these cases. Patients were treated using different approaches to treatment, including surgical intervention, combined with chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. Dogs in the majority displayed extended lifespans, with a median survival time of 973 days, varying from 2 to 4315 days. The efficacy of virtual and traditional lab approaches was examined for teaching first-year medical students the qualitative analysis of proteins and carbohydrates. The questionnaire served to estimate student satisfaction regarding virtual labs, in addition to evaluating their achievements. A total of 633 students participated in the study. To execute the comprehensive literature searches needed for an Evidence Synthesis (ES), librarians and information specialists are essential. Several documented advantages accrue to ES research teams when these professionals contribute, especially during project collaboration. While librarian co-authorship does exist, its prevalence is quite low. Motivations of researchers who collaborate with librarians on co-authored works are explored in this study via a mixed-methods research design. Following interviews with researchers, 20 potential motivations related to recently published ES were investigated via an online questionnaire distributed to authors. Previous research supports the conclusion that, while most respondents did not include a librarian co-author, a significant 16% did in fact list a librarian, and 10% received valuable assistance but failed to acknowledge it within the manuscript. Search expertise was a primary motivator for both collaborating with and declining to co-author with librarians. Individuals keen on collaborative authorship pointed to the librarians' search expertise, while those confident in their own research skills declined to collaborate. The presence of a librarian as a co-author on ES publications was more common among researchers whose motivations encompassed methodological proficiency and readily available opportunities. The co-authorship of librarians was not connected to any detrimental motivations. Researchers' motivations for involving a librarian in ES investigation teams are explicitly detailed in these findings. Additional studies are essential to establish the soundness of these justifications.
